  • Know how to use optional excerpts to make a cleaner blog when using this theme.
  • Learn how to upload images.
  • You definitely need to know how to use custom fields.
  • Get the latest version of WordPress to make use of tags.
  • You need to understand how the WordPress system works, at least to some extent. This is not a theme for new bloggers, unless you are willing to put in the time to learn a little more about WordPress on your own.

DeepBlue- Free Premium Wordpress Theme

Deep Blue is an elegant theme. The theme was specifically designed to include a 336×280 Adsense unit on top of the sidebar. Google confirms that this is the best performing Adsense format, so the layout should enable bloggers to monetize their site efficiently without compromising the user experience.

Nathan did an outstanding job creating many useful features for the theme, including:

  • Easy Adsense Integration: The theme comes with a ad.php file where you just need to paste your Adsense code and it will be displayed on the sidebar automatically
  • Search Engine Optimization: The meta and title tags are already optimized for search engines.
  • Easy Feedburner Integration: The “Theme Options” section inside the Wordpress control panel enables the blogger to insert his Feedburner URL, which will be used all over the theme.
  • Customizable Sidebar: The sidebar already comes with a pretty “Popular Posts” section, and it splits automatically into two sidebars below it.
  • Expandable Menu Tabs: The tabs will automatically resize to match the size of the links on the menu.
  • Comments Styling: Author comments have a different style.

DarkZen- Free Premium Wordpress Theme

Most of our previous WordPress themes used light or vivid colors, so I thought that a darker design was needed on the portfolio. DarkZen comes with a dark header and a gray background, packed on a clean and minimalist design.

Here is a complete list of the features of the theme:

  • Advertising Ready: The theme comes with a 468×60 banner spot on the header, as well as six 125×125 ad blocks on the sidebar. The blogger should also be able to insert other AdSense units without problems.
  • Widget Ready: The theme supports widgets. Just drop the ones you use and you are ready to go.
  • Social Bookmarking Icons: Both the Homepage and single post pages already come with social bookmarking icons integrated. You can also remove or add new ones at will.
  • Customizable Sidebar: The sidebar can hold full width and split sections, so that you can customize your fields easily.
  • Search Engine Optimizated: As usual the title tags and internal pages are already optimized for search engines.
